TotalWellness President and Founder Alan Kohll became the Huffington Post’s latest contributor this week with his first blog article about how “forcing” employees to participate in wellness programs can backfire.
Incentives and disincentives can increase employee wellness participation, but they are just short-term fixes that do not address a larger problem, writes Alan. He said companies should spend the time to create a corporate culture that supports overall wellness so that employees participate because they want to and not because they feel forced to comply.
