Below is a list of frequently asked questions from clients just like yourself about on-site flu shots. If you have additional questions, please contact us today.

  • Q: How do I request an on-site flu shot event?
A: First, you will speak with one of our Account Executives who will go over how our events work. We will draft a service agreement for you including the number of shots you would like to order, the locations where you would like the shots administered, and the date and time you would like the event to be hosted. Upon receiving a completed service agreement, we try our best to schedule your event for the date and time requested. We recommend requesting flu shot events at least four to six weeks in advance. • Q: When should I get a flu shot?
A: Flu shots are generally administered from mid-September to mid-November, but it is beneficial to get a flu shot anytime and to schedule your event early.
  • Q: Who should get a flu shot?
A: In general, anyone interested in reducing their chance of getting the flu should get a flu shot.
  • Q: Who should not get a flu shot?
A: People with a severe allergy to eggs or other components of the vaccine. People who are significantly ill with a fever. They would wait until symptoms subside before getting their flu shot. Children less than six months old. Possibly people with a history of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). For the most detailed and current list, go to the Center for Disease Control.
  • Q: Should pregnant women or nursing mothers get the flu shot?
A: As is noted in the CDC’s annual report on flu vaccine information and recommendations, experts consider the flu shot safe for pregnant women and breastfeeding women and their infants. Vaccination is recommended for women who will be pregnant during the flu season because of their increased risk for flu-related complications. However, certain states have enacted legislation about not giving mercury-containing vaccine to pregnant women.
  • Q: Does the flu shot carry any side effects?
A: The most common side effect is soreness at the injection site. More rare side effects include allergic reactions and Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). You also cannot get the flu from the flu shot. The virus in the flu shot is already dead.
  • Q: What is the minimum number of participants I need to hold on-site flu shots?
A: We have a minimum order of 40 flu shot per event. Smaller sites (between 20-40 flu shots) can be accommodated for a small site fee.
  • Q: Are participants required to pre-register for flu shots?
A: No, we do not require employees to pre-register for their flu shot. However, to cut down on wait time and to make the event smooth and successful, we highly recommend that participants sign up in advance. Our proprietary tool, Register My Time lets employees schedule appointments online.
